Nonetheless, the Ferris State University Bulldogs were out on the Top Taggart Field turf, one day after heavy rains wreaked havoc with the weather. But, when a team is preparing for the start of what will be a challenging football season, it's hard to spend too much time worrying about the weather. There is a danger for players who are out on the field working hard, but smart players and coaches understand their limitations and take the proper precautions to keep all parties involved as safe as humanly possible.
Fortunately, Ferris Head Athletics Trainer Dave Lucey and his staff did a good job monitoring the situation and making sure the health of all parties involved was of paramount importance.
I was outside for a few minutes and I was already soaked in sweat, but nothing beats an opportunity to get outside to check out some football - this is that time of the year.
