A setter by trade, Wyers comes from an outstanding athletic background as her father,
Kirk, played college basketball at Northern Michigan University; her sister, Ashley, played college volleyball at Lake Superior State University; and her other sister, Nikki, was a member of the Lake Superior women's basketball team.
Here is what Ferris volleyball coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm said about her latest signee:
"Paige is a wonderful athlete who has been a part of our camps in the past," said Brandel-Wilhelm. "We're excited to add Paige to our program. We expect her to give us much needed depth at the setter position."
Here is part of the press release:
Wyers, a 5-9 setter, achieved third-team all-state honors during her 2008-09 senior season at White Cloud (Mich.) High School while registering 180 kills, a .263 attack percentage, 75 service aces, 19 block solos, 45 block assists, 739 assists, and 215 digs in 107 games played as the Indians compiled a 37-7-3 overall record. The three-time (2007-09) team captain was named to the all-conference and all-area teams in each of her four seasons (2005-09) while garnering all-region kudos the last three years (2006-09) under head coach Barbara Wyers.
