FOOTBALL: Bulldogs Dig Early Hole, But Can't Recover

FINDLAY, Ohio - When you fall behind 31-0 you know you're in big trouble when you are on the road playing against a good football team.

Ferris State University found itself precisely in that position as the Oilers jumped all over the Bulldogs. Coming into the game, the Bulldogs knew they could not afford to fall behind so big and so early in this contest. That gigantic deficit fired up Findlay on both sides of the football and got the fans in attendance at Donnell Stadium fired up as well.

Coming into the game, the Bulldogs knew they needed to control the line of scrimmage, run the football, stop the football and not fall into a huge hole early.

None of those went the Bulldogs' way as Findlay grabbed control with a death-lock grip and did not relinquish control all the way through the end.

Take a closer look at those keys.
  • Ferris fell behind 31-0 in the first quarter and trailed 38-0 at the half
  • Findlay outrushed the Bulldogs 292-53
  • Findlay won in total offense with 431 yards to 128
