FOOTBALL: Ferris Falls Hard To Findlay

FINDLAY, Ohio - Ferris State University ran into a buzzsaw on Saturday afternoon at Donnell Stadium - home of the University of Findlay Oilers.

Findlay was dominant from start to finish, Ferris never got out of the gates and the Oilers rolled to a decisive 43-7 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory. The game hardly seemed even that close as the Findlay offensive line controlled the game from the beginning and never relented right up until the end. Findlay racked up 431 yards of total offense while the Bulldogs managed just 128 yards of total offense.

There were few highlights outside of receiver Matt Schuelke making the first touchdown catch of his Bulldog career on a 17-yard reception from quarterback Tom Schneider at 7:09 of the third quarter.

Ferris never had a chance. The Bulldogs fumbled five times and lost two. Ferris as intercepted twice in the contest. Findlay had the edge in time of possession with the ball for 39:27 to 20:33 for Ferris.

Monterea Williams rushed the football for 196 yards on 33 carries with a touchdown.

Ferris now drops to 1-2 overall 0-2 in the GLIAC while Findlay improves 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the GLIAC.

It just wasn't a very pretty game in any way, shape or form.

More coverage will come later in the game.
