y women's basketball program.Gone is point guard Chelsea Simonetti (who is not returning to the team), but the Bulldogs have added Kylie Muntz (pictured), a sharp-shooting guard from Dayton, Ohio who should provide Ferris with a nice long-range shooter to stretch out opposing defenses. Muntz, a 5-foot-8 guard averaged 11.9 points and 3.7 rebounds for Wayne High School in her hometown.
"We are thrilled to add Kylie to our roster for the upcoming season," said FSU head coach Tracey Dorow in a press release statement. "She's a coach's kid who understands the game and brings an air of confidence to the court.
"Kylie knocked down a lot of three's and proved herself to be a scoring threat at the high school level," Dorow added. "She is also a composed player under pressure and finds a way to get the ball to her teammates when they are open."
Muntz is an especially nice addition with the loss of Simonetti and an injury issue the team is having to deal with looking ahead to the 2009-10 season.
The Bulldogs may need all hands on deck with a roster that doesn't have a ton of depth, but has some nice incoming freshmen who could be called on to contribute early in their college hoop careers for Ferris. The other incoming freshmen, joining Muntz, are Leah Kebler, a 6-foot forward from Midland; Katy Fox, a 6-foot-1 center from Royal Center, Ind.; and Felicia Standley, a 6-foot-2 center from Augusta.
