HOCKEY: Ferris' Chad Billins Featured In Port Huron Times Herald Article

BIG RAPIDS - Ferris State University hockey player Chad Billins is featured in an online article published by the Port Huron Times Herald.

Billins, a key defenseman in the lineup for the Bulldogs and a graduate of Marysville High School, discussed his time prior to Ferris and what adjustments he has had to make to playing college hockey in one of the nation's premier leagues: the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.

Here is an excerpt from the article:
Chad Billins was unlike many freshmen last year when he arrived at Ferris State University.

The 2007 Marysville High School graduate didn't have to adjust to being away from home -- he had already played two years of junior hockey.

Billins, instead, had to pick up the Bulldog's systems and just continue his development.

"I've had time to adjust," said Billins, a defenseman. "It's just like high school, going to school and playing hockey at the same time. The guys and the coaching staff made it a really easy transition."

After going to Marysville High School for three years, Billins went on to play junior hockey his senior year for the Alpena Ice Diggers of the North American Hockey
League
.

He then returned home to graduate with his high school class.
