The Bulldogs swept visiting Bowling Green State University by winning 5-1 on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday to improve to 7-3-0 overall on the season and 2-2-0 in the CCHA.
Ferris has been phenomenal with its defense and particularly so at home against the opposition it has faced. The goaltending of Pat Nagle and Taylor Nelson has been strong and has forced head coach Bob Daniels to walk back a bit from his early choice to choose one of the two and ride them through the season.
While the freshmen have performed well and have added a spark, the stability of this team has been on the shoulders of the veterans like Blair Riley (pictured), Aaron Lewicki, Derek Graham and Zach Redmond and Cody Chupp ... among the scorers for the Bulldogs who are off to solid starts.
These upperclassmen need to continue to deliver and that will take some of the attention away from a strong group of freshmen, led by Travis Ouellette, who should continue to deliver the goods this season.
