HOCKEY: No. 1 Miami Seeks To Avoid Letdown Against A Ferris Team It Has 'Respect For'

Miami University may be the premier hockey team in the nation right now, but don't think it is overlooking Ferris State University in this weekend's series in Oxford, Ohio.

The RedHawks are coming off a sweep of national power Michigan and say they are prepared to not to take lightly the visiting Bulldogs in this weekend's Central Collegiate Hockey Association series.

Here is an excerpt from a story published by The Oxford Press:

There should not be a problem with the top-ranked RedHawks having an emotional letdown following the sweep over Michigan, (Cody) Reichard said.

“They’re not an easy team to play,” he said of Ferris State, which stands 7-3-0, 2-2-0 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. “We have a lot of respect for them. I think we have some momentum, but they’re a good team and have some momentum too.

“The college season being so short, there is never a weekend when you can let down,” he added. “It’s too important.”

Miami (8-1-1, 5-1-0 CCHA) will face Ferris State at Steve Cady Arena at 7:35 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, and
7:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.

The Bulldogs are off to a great start at home, but now they are eager to prove they can win on the road in CCHA action. But, it doesn't get much tougher in the CCHA than trying to knock off Miami in Steve Cady Arena.
