A native of Greenville, the hometown newspaper put together a nice piece on the 6-foot-3 DeHart, who has become a valuable member of the men's basketball program.
From the Greenville Daily News:
There is little doubt that DeHart will continue to make a solid contribution to the Ferris cause as a senior. He stepped in and played a little power forward this past season for the Bulldogs and even held his own on the boards in spite of giving up some height and bulk against competitors in the GLIAC.
GREENVILLE - Former Greenville Yellow Jackets basketball player Matt DeHart just completed his third season playing basketball for Ferris State University.
DeHart began his season with an exhibition game against Aquinas College at his former high school and ended it with a 82-69 loss to Findlay in the GLIAC Conference tournament semifinals on March 5. Findlay defeated Hillsdale to win the GLIAC tournament."
This is the farthest I've been in the tourney in my career," DeHart said. "This will help us in the future with confidence and experience. We have 10 players returning next year and four of them are seniors."
DeHart, a junior guard, played in all 29 games this season with 13 consecutive starts from Jan. 13 through Feb. 25. He averaged 5.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game while shooting 45 percent from the floor and 43 percent from three-point range.
DeHart is a true student-athlete and a great asset to Bulldog Basketball.
