But, Ferris State University believes it is up for a major challenge as it will host this year's three-day GLIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships (May 5-7) at Top Taggart Field in Big Rapids. The decathlon and heptathlon start the competition on Wednesday (May 5) at 2 p.m. Thursday (May 6), the competition continues beginning at 9 a.m. and running through 8:30 p.m. Friday (May 7), the meet concludes with events beginning at 11 a.m. and running through the late afternoon as the league awards ceremony will conclude the event.
Hosting a meet that features the best of the best in the GLIAC (including several of the best track and field student-athletes in the nation) requires a collaborative effort.
Considering the magnitude of the event. The Ferris State University Athletics Department is actively seeking volunteer assistance to run this meet. Anyone interested in volunteering to assistant staff of Athletics is asked to contact FSU Athletics Director Tom Kirinovic or Associate Athletics Director Jon Coles at (231) 591-2860.
