MEN'S BASKETBALL: Northwood Brings In Ferris Hall Of Famer Lewis Garner As An Assistant

Ferris State University Bulldog Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Lewis Garner is rejoining the men's basketball coaching staff at Northwood University under newly-hired head coach Jeff Rekeweg.

Garner, who had an outstanding men's basketball playing career for the Bulldogs and served as an assistant coach for Ferris, brings a wealth of experience to the Timberwolves.

In addition to being a former NU assistant coach (for eight seasons), Garner also has served as men's head basketball coach at Davenport University (an NAIA program) in Grand Rapids.

Garner, in addition to being a member of the Bulldog Athletics Hall of Fame, is a graduate of Ferris, who later went on to earn a master's degree from Central Michigan University.

Congratulations to Coach Garner on resurfacing at Northwood. I've had a chance to talk to him and interview him several times and it's nice to see good things happen to good people.
