Here is an excerpt from a Ferris State Athletics Communications press release:
Ferris State University's Eric Lilleboe (Okemos/Lansing Catholic Central) and Kurt Valley (Bay City/Western) continue to claim honors in their respec
tive senior seasons as the pair have been named NCAA Division II PING All-Midwest Region Team for the 2009-10 season as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Lilleboe and Valley were among 12 individuals to garner All-Midwest Region Team accolades.
A total of 105 players across the eight regions - East, Atlantic, Southeast, South, Midwest, South Central, Central, and West - earned all-region plaudits for the 2009-10 season.
Earlier this season, Lilleboe was recognized as the 2009-10 Great La
kes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (GLIAC) Men's Golf "Athlete of the Year". The top conference honor represented the second time in which Lilleboe has received such recognition after previously garnering the award in the 2007-08 campaign. Lilleboe also claimed All-GLIAC First-Team laurels for the third consecutive season (2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10) and was the medalist at the 2009-10 GLIAC Championships (Oct. 3-5).
Valley is a three-time all-conference selection to date, which includes picking up first-team honors in 2008-09 and 2009-10. He attained honorable mention all-league recognition in the 2007-08 season.
Outstanding job by Lilleboe and Valley in leading the Ferris men's golf team to new heights on the course.
