MEN'S GOLF: Livingston Daily Announces Commitment Of Stark To Ferris

The Livingston Daily.com is reporting that golfer Sam Stark is going to bring his skills to Ferris State University. The newspaper announced a large number of local signings in one big story, and Ferris was mentioned as the destination for one of the golfers.

Here is an excerpt of what was published in a story dated May 24:
Stark, who will play for Ferris State, and Gaines, a Northwood recruit, both found schools they believe are perfect fits.

"The coach at Ferris had my coach at Hartland (Nathan Oake) as his coach in high school, so there was that connection," Stark said. "The program's at nationals now (as of Thursday), so it's pretty well established. It's more of a challenge than the other places I visited. I don't think I'm going to play there right away, and that should make me a better player, ultimately."

"I want to go into finance and business, and it's a great school for that," Gaines said. "They have a golf team I think I can play on. I looked at Wayne State, too. Those were the only schools I was interested in."
Hopefully Stark will keep that strong tradition of golf going at Ferris as his career begins with the Bulldogs in the near future.
