HOCKEY: Ferris Hockey Team Part Of Emmy Award Received By CCHA

One more honor that revolves around Ferris State University's 2009-10 hockey team that captured the imagination of the community with a successful run to Joe Louis Arena and the Central Collegiate Hockey Association semifinals.

The Ferris State University men's ice hockey program has earned special acclaim as a result of FOX Sports Detroit's Central Collegiate Hockey Association's (CCHA) All-Access program receiving an EMMY Award this past Saturday (June 5) from the Michigan Chapter of National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

The organization's 32nd annual ceremony, which was held at the Royal Oak (Mich.) Music Theatre, recognized television excellence for productions originating in 2009.

FOX Sports Detroit claimed the top honor in the regularly scheduled weekly or daily sports program for the CCHA All-Access show featuring Ferris State hockey.

The episode from February 2009 featured an in-depth look at the 2008-09 Bulldogs and the university's community of Big Rapids, Mich. The primary contributors to the episode were Alex Wright, Denny Iott, and James Joliat.
