HOCKEY: Panetta Speaks High Of Ferris State

Ferris State University hockey recruit Dominic Panetta, playing for the Bismarck Bobcats and expected to join the program for the 2011-12 season, could hardly be more excited about the opportunity to join the Bulldog hockey team of head coach Bob Daniels.

Panetta, quoted in Our Sports Central, expressed his enthusiasm about the Ferris hockey team and his familiarity with the program.

"It's definitely a huge relief to know that I'll be playing at the D-I level," said Panetta, who led the NAHL in playoff scoring with 17 points on six goals and 11 assists. "Now that I have my deal in place, I can really focus on becoming the best player possible over the next year."

Being a native of West Michigan, Panetta also discussed his comfort level with the Ferris staff of coaches, the campus and the area.

"When everything was said and done, it was a pretty easy call to pick Ferris," said Panetta, who resides in Grand Rapids. "I was talking to a lot of great programs, but I grew up in Big Rapids and I've known Coach Daniels since I was three years old. It's a really comfortable fit for me."
