FOOTBALL: Freshman Picnic Signifies Start Of Fall Training Camp

It's almost hard to believe, but the month of August is upon us and that means the start of college football season is just around the corner for diehard fans.

At Ferris State University, the Gridiron Club will be a part of the kickoff of the 2010 football season as it will take the lead in welcoming Bulldog freshmen football players to campus by hosting its annual "Freshman Picnic" slated for Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Top Taggart Field.

It promises to be a fun time to get to know the incoming Bulldog football players, their families, the coaches and mingle with other people passionate about Ferris' football team.

The picnic begins at 6:30 p.m. Afterward, beginning at about 7:30 p.m., the coaching staff and incoming players will be introduced to the public. From there, Gridiron Club members will meet with families of the incoming student-athletes to provide some necessary information while the players will spend some time with the coaches.
