FOOTBALL: Port Huron Times Herald Highlights Ferris Freshman

The Port Huron Times Herald has a nice story about the transition to college football at Ferris State University being made by freshman offensive lineman Jacob Davis.

Davis stands 6-foot-4 and weighs in the neighborhood of 310 pounds. He is a native of Grant Township, who prepped at Port Huron Northern High School, and is working hard to get himself into playing form as quickly as possible.

Here is an excerpt from the story:

In high school, every time Jake Davis stepped onto the field for the Port Huron Northern football team, he was always one of the biggest and strongest players.

Now as a freshman offensive lineman at Ferris State University, Davis doesn't have the same advantage."

Coming from Northern, I was always the biggest guy, and it was easy for me to toss people around," he said. "Up here, it's totally new. Everyone is my size or bigger. It's a new experience, but nothing I can't handle."
