Various local reports from Grand Rapids-area media indicate that more than 1,200 players auditioned to be cast as extras in the film "Touchback" starring Kurt Russell. The movie is being filmed in the Grand Rapids area at Coopersville High School, where Visser was a prep standout before he brought his skills north, up U.S. 131 to Big Rapids where he starred for Ferris as a defensive tackle. Visser, like many of the others selected to take part in the movie, is a West Michigan product who did enough to impress producers to fill out rosters for the teams. For the full story on the 6-foot-2, 275-pound Visser's journey to the big screen, visit Crimson and Gold Report on the MLive.com network.
