MEN'S BASKETBALL: Ferris Cited As A Team That Could Experience A "Breakthrough"

It's still a little ways off, but Ferris State University is soon to be gearing up for another season of men's college basketball.

This season, however, expectations will be elevated as Ferris is listed among teams that could be in the mix for big things by the end of the campaign.

Below, The Sporting News makes some preseason projections and the Bulldogs of head coach Bill Sall will factor into that mix.

One of the things you will notice, particularly in looking at the top of this poll, is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference appears destined to again rank well as a men's basketball conference in Division II. Findlay and Grand Valley State are both ranked in the top three of the 2010-11 Preseason Top 10 of The Sporting News.

Despite some misguided criticisms, the GLIAC ranks as one of the better conferences in the land and this season could go a long way to backing up that status.
