Indeed, the Bulldogs suffered a 3-1 loss to the host Lakers by scores of 21-25, 25-21, 20-25, 22-25 before a crowd of 771 in the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Division action.
Arielle Goodson (pictured) led the Bulldogs with 18 kills while Ashley Huntey added 13 (with 17 digs) in the four-set loss. Samantha Fordyce had 45 assists, nine digs and six kills.
Lisa Tobiczyk added 17 digs.
Grand Valley had a balanced attack led by Stacey Catalano with 13 kills, Leslie Curtis with 12 kills and Sacha Gill with 10.
Ferris is 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the GLIAC while Grand Valley improves to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
The Bulldogs are back in action Northwood Timberwolves this Saturday (Sept. 18) in a 4 p.m. contest in Midland.
