Ferris State University came back, late in its match against Northern Michigan University, but dropped a 3-1 decision to the Wildcats in a match played insi
The Bulldogs dropped sets one and two by scores of 25-15 and 25-20. Ferris, however, rallied back to win the third set by a count of 25-23 before they fell by that same score in the fourth set as the visitors from Marquette secured the road victory before a packed house.
Leading the Bulldogs with 15 kills was middle hitter Arielle Goodson while Ashley Huntey added nine kills in the loss. Aly Brecht had six and Anne Sutton added five.
Setter Samantha Fordyce ran the offense and totaled 98 assists with four kills.
Huntey had 15 digs while Lisa Tobiczyk added 13.
The Bulldogs fall to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the GLIAC North Division. Northern improved to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the GLIAC's North Division standings. The race looks like it is going to be another close one that could come right down to the final week to sort out.
Ferris is back on the court, in Big Rapids, early Sunday afternoon when it hosts Michigan Tech at 2 p.m.
