VOLLEYBALL: Brandel-Wilhelm Earns Her 300th Victory At Ferris

Here is a note about a milestone achieved by Ferris State University volleyball coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm, who earned a historic victory in the Bulldog program:

A milestone was reached following the Ferris State University women's volleyball team's 3-1 victory at Michigan Tech Sunday (Oct. 24) as FSU head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm recorded her 300th victory directing the Bulldog program.

Brandel-Wilhelm, who's currently in her 15th season at Ferris State, has compiled a 300-159 (.654) coaching record during that time and is 31 more victories away from becoming the school's all-time winningest coach. Jill Hirschinger, a 2008 FSU Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, went 330-151 (.686) from 1984-95 directing the Bulldogs' program.

In her tenure at Ferris State, Brandel-Wilhelm has led the Bulldogs to 13 winning seasons and six appearances (1999, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2009) in the NCAA Division II Tournament. In 2004, Brandel-Wilhelm directed Ferris State to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship title as the Bulldogs won the conference tournament. For her efforts, she has twice (1998 and 2002) been selected by her conference coaching peers as the GLIAC Coach of the Year.
