CROSS COUNTRY: Men's And Women's Team To Compete Today In Regionals

It's that time of the year for the Ferris State University men's and women's cross country teams as they are in Louisville, Ky. to compete in the 2010 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships today (Nov. 20).

The regional is being hosted by Bellarmine University of the Great Lakes Valley Conference at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park. The men's 10K race begins at 11 a.m. followed by the women's 6K race at 12 p.m.

This race should be a showcase for the women's cross country team which is ranked eighth in the latest United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II National Rankings and second in the Midwest Regional rankings. Under head coach Steve Picucci, both teams have worked hard to be well prepared to run their best races at this time of the year.

We're all looking forward to the results as the women's team, led by standout Tina Muir (pictured) looks to again prove worthy of its regional and national rankings and the men's team continues to battle to earn a place among the best in the region.
