HOCKEY: Ferris Set To Face No. 1 Miami This Weekend In Big Rapids

It's another big test for the Ferris State University hockey team as it prepares to test itself against arguably the premier team in the nation, top-ranked Miami University.

The teams play Friday and Saturday night in Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids with both contests slated to begin at 7:05 p.m.

Obviously, this will be a major test for the Bulldogs (4-3-1 overall, 1-2-1-1 in the CCHA) taking on head coach Enrico Blasi's Miami squad (5-1-2 overall, 3-0-1-1 in the CCHA) that is one of the major favorites to win a national championship this season.

As expected, the Bulldogs of head coach Bob Daniels will be tested pretty much week after week in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. It started last week, with a 0-1-1 record against nationally-ranked Michigan and continues with a series against a team that, on paper, is even better than the Wolverines.

Ferris is lead by senior defenseman Zach Redmond (pictured), who continues to excel. Redmond, an All-America candidate, leads the Bulldogs with eight points on four goals with four assists.
