MEN'S BASKETBALL: No Time To Panic For Bulldogs

Ferris State University
suffered a pair of losses last week in Owensboro, Ky.

I had a few conversations with head coach Bill Sall and he knew that his team would face some very tough competition down in the Bluegrass State as Ferris took part in the Owensboro Classic.

The Bulldogs knew full well that Drury (Mo.) would be good and that Kentucky Wesleyan would send its usual strong team to the hardwood.

Ferris suffered an 88-72 loss to Drury (Nov. 26) and followed that up with an 85-73 setback at the hands of nationally-ranked Kentucky Wesleyan (Nov. 27).

Back-to-back losses dropped the Bulldogs to 3-2.

Obviously, Ferris wants to win as many of these regional games as possible and a split would have been big (a sweep would have been huge).

But, the Kentucky journey is behind Ferris and the Bulldogs now must focus on what it will take to get off to a good start in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action.

The Bulldogs host Tiffin University on Dec. 2 (Thursday) and then welcomes Ohio Dominican on Dec. 4 (Saturday) in Jim Wink Arena.
