VOLLEYBALL: Ferris On A Three-Game Winning Streak Entering Stretch Run

Ferris State University is playing solid volleyball coming down the stretch of the season - when teams generally want to hit their stride.

The Bulldogs have three consecutive victories over Michigan Tech University, Tiffin University and Ohio Dominican University. That nice stretch of the success lifts the Bulldogs to 14-9 overall and 10-6 in the North Division of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Ferris has won eight times in 11 opportunities within the friendly confines of Ewigleben Sports Arena.

Arielle Goodson (pictured top), a senior middle, and Ashley Huntey (pictured bottom), a junior outside, continue to lead the team in kills this fall. Goodson remains the team leader with 364 while Huntey is not too far off that pace with 271. Junior setter Samantha Fordyce, who passed the 2,000 assist total for a career, has 918 assists this season.

Junior libero Lisa Tobiczyk leads the team with 404 digs while Huntey has 219. Goodson leads the team with 74 total blocks.

The Bulldogs close out the regular season at home this week with three matches in Big Rapids. Ferris hosts Saginaw Valley State University on Wednesday, Northwood University on Thursday and Lake Superior State University on Friday.

It will be a tough rapid-fire stretch to end the week and the regular season, but the Bulldogs are gearing up for this important time of the year.
