WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Principe Earns GLIAC North Division Player Of The Week Honor

Ferris State University women's basketball standout Tricia Principe picked up some recognition as she was named this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball North Division Player of the Week.

Ferris split two games at its own Bulldog Classic in Big Rapids. Principe scored 21 points in the season-opening 69-60 loss to Edinboro (Pa.) on Saturday, but bounced back to score 25 points to lead the Bulldogs to an 80-71 upset victory over 15th-ranked Gannon (Pa.) on Sunday afternoon.

Principe, a 5-foot-9 guard from Kalamazoo and Mattawan High School, is off to a solid start this season as she helped lead the Bulldogs to a nice bounce-back effort in an upset of Gannon.
