HOCKEY: Ferris Gets Big Win Over Spartans On Friday

Lets face it, Ferris State University was in need of a big win against Michigan State University, on Saturday, after dropping a hard-fought 3-2 decision in Big Rapids on Friday.

It wasn't the prettiest goal ever, but defenseman Chad Billins' late score, Saturday night at Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, lifted the Bulldogs to a 1-0 win against the Spartans before a statewide, regional (and in some cases) national audience in a game televised on Fox Sports Detroit.

With a big series coming up this weekend, against an Alaska team that has given the Bulldogs all kinds of fits in recent seasons, it was nice for the Bulldogs to finish off the MSU series successfully.

The Bulldogs of head coach Bob Daniels (pictured) host the Nanooks this weekend on Friday and Saturday in Ewigleben Ice Arena with start time scheduled for 7:05 p.m. both nights.

For Ferris, now is as good a time as any to finally solve the hockey riddle that is Alaska (a riddle that, at times, has stumped the Bulldogs).
