WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Houdek Named GLIAC North Division Player Of The Week

Becci Houdek is in the midst of a strong season on the hardwood for Ferris State University's women's basketball season.

Last week was a great example of that as she led the Bulldogs to a 63-60 win over eighth-ranked Michigan Tech and a 74-44 win over Northern Michigan.

Houdek, a Canton native, had 12 points, nine rebounds and seven assists against Tech and then 17 points, four rebounds and four assists against the Wildcats en route to earning Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Division Player of the Week honors.

It's a well-deserved honor for Becci as she led the team to a great upset win and was one of the reasons the Bulldogs did not let down on Saturday against Northern.

The Bulldogs take on rival Grand Valley State on Saturday, Jan. 29, in the "131 Showdown" at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids.
