The 6-foot-7 senior from Grand Rapids earned a little more hardware as he was again named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's North Division Player of the Week. It's the second week in a row that Keenan has been honored by the league's office as his play continues to impress this season for the Bulldogs.
Keenan averaged 29.5 points and 10 rebounds as the Bulldogs were 2-0 with North Division victories over Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan. As a result of his two performances, he moved into second place on the school's list of career scoring leaders. Keenan totaled 31 points and 10 rebounds in a 70-63 win over Northern, on Saturday, and put up 28 points with 10 rebounds in the 70-60 victory over Tech two days earlier, last Thursday.
The Bulldogs take on rival Grand Valley State on Saturday, Jan. 29, in the "131 Showdown" at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids.
The women's contest will be played first starting at 6 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 8 p.m. Tickets can be bought online by visiting www.131showdown.com.
