VOLLEYBALL: Rehm Adds More Size, Athleticism At The Net For Bulldogs

The Bulldogs have been looking to add size and athleticism at the net for the 2011 season.

It's recruiting class, as it has come together so far, is showing that that focus is beginning to pay off for Ferris State University head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm and her staff.

The Bulldogs, during the early-signing period, added 6-foot-2 middle hitter Courtney Rehm of Portage Central High School. Rehm is coming off a banner senior season for the Mustangs as she helped lead her team to a record of 49-10.

"Courtney is an incredible athlete - quick, high jumping and intensely competitive," Brandel-Wilhelm said of Rehm. "She's still young in the sport of volleyball and has an outstanding potential ahead of her. We're truly excited to have her join the Bulldog Volleyball family."

Her athleticism was on display during the spring as part of track and field season. She set a school record in the high jump as she cleared 5 feet, 6 inches as a junior as she went on to become a regional champion. She also earned Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference runner-up honors in the high jump.
