Ferris State University's Darien Gay (11) goes up for a shot against Grand Valley State University during a recent home game in Wink Arena. (FSU Athletics)Ferris State University is set to take on Michigan Tech University in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament in Big Rapids at Jim Wink Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs and Huskies play at 1 p.m. and that will be followed by the other semifinal between the University of Findlay and Wayne State University at 3 p.m.
These should be two excellent semifinal round contests as the Bulldogs take on the Huskies who are coming in off a stunning upset of No. 3 seed Grand Valley State University in Allendale (the teams were re-seeded in the semifinals round).
Ferris will have to bring its "A" game against a Michigan Tech team that is well-coached and big inside.
In the other semifinal, an excellent matchup is on tap as the Oilers and Warriors will battle. This is a contest between two well-coached teams that go at it hard and get after it defensively.
