SOFTBALL: Ferris' Home Opener Will Have To Wait A Little Longer

The home opener for Ferris State University's softball team will have to wait a little bit due to the snow and cold weather at the FSU Softball Field.

Ferris' scheduled home doubleheader against Davenport University, set for Tuesday (March 29) has been canceled due to the field conditions. The late snowstorm that hit the area recently set back the start of the home portion of the Bulldogs' softball schedule.

The Bulldogs of head coach Keri Becker did have a chance to open their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule as they traveled to Ohio and competed against Lake Erie College, Ohio Dominican University and Ashland University. The Bulldogs took two against Lake Erie, split against ODU and dropped a pair to Ashland to begin the GLIAC 3-3 (the team is 6-12 overall).

Ferris will attempt to open the home schedule again on Thursday (March 31) when it is scheduled to host Aquinas College in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
