Here is a nice feature from an area television station on Ferris State University women's basketball recruit Katie Mavis, of St. Joseph, and her decision to choose basketball for her sport in college.
Mavis also is a standout softball player and strong prospect who the report says had a softball scholarship offer from a Division I school.
Who knows ... maybe Mavis will join Lindsey Pettit as a two-sport college star playing basketball and softball.
