Saginaw Valley State University Jonathon Jennings is going to be the focal point of the Ferris State University defense on Saturday night beginning at 7 p.m. at Wickes Stadium on the SVSU campus.
The Bulldogs are facing a major challenge with a dual-threat quarterback, in Jennings, who can pass the ball efficiently, but also has the ability to run with the ball. Ferris will work to get pressure on Jennings, but the team must be careful to keep him contained so he does not run wild as he does have the ability and mobility to make plays in the open field. The Bulldogs experienced that last year against SVSU, to some degree, against Cardinals' QB Chuck Dowdell, who was extremely athletic and mobile.
Ferris has to also be strong against the SVSU running game too. The Bulldogs' defensive line will need to be tough in this contest led by Brad Iskow, Muneer Bawayeh, Jordan Morgan, Garrett Woods and company.
Ferris leads the all-time series with Saginaw Valley, 18-17-1.
